The Burnham Beeches Half Marathon and 10K offers a choice of two distances, both on a mix of closed roads and hard-surfaced paths through the cool shade of the Burnham Beeches ancient woodland in South Bucks. It’s the perfect setting for a summer half marathon or 10K.
This year is the 41st running of the event. By popular demand the course will again be run in reverse (clockwise direction) offering a new twist to this very popular race.
We will be minimising the use of plastics and urge runners to please bring your own water bottles, which can be filled from taps in the race village before and after the event. There will be a medal only this year, no finisher shirt which enables us to keep costs down and again minimise the environmental impact of the event.
There will be two water stations on the course with water available from cups and jugs for refilling your bottles.
Runners must be at least 17 years old on the day of the race to enter the Half Marathon (15 years old for the 10k). The races are unsuitable for wheelchairs and no runners may be accompanied by a cyclist, pushchair or dog. The usual EA race rules apply and runners are only recommended to wear approved (bone conducting) headphones while running. There will be a cut-off time of 3 hours for the Half Marathon after which time any runner still on the course will be advised that they continue on their own at their own risk.
We will advise if there needs to be any Covid related restrictions in place. One change from previous years is that unfortunately we will not be able to provide access to the school swimming pool this year.
We are hopeful that the event will be able to go ahead, but if we need to cancel the event the intention is to carry places forward to a 2023 event. The entry fee is non-refundable.
